Inslope Repair to Begin on U.S. Highway 14A Near Broken Boot Gold Mine Southwest of Deadwood
DEADWOOD, S.D. – Beginning on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026, a project is scheduled to repair the inslope adjacent to Deadwood Creek and to replace a pipe on U.S. Highway 14A at the Broken Boot Gold Mine southwest of Deadwood.
Two-way traffic will be maintained during the project. A 10-foot width restriction will be in place for both lanes of traffic. A signed over-width detour will be routed to U.S. Highway 85. A weekend closure for pipe installation will be announced in the future.
The prime contractor on the $550,000 project is Mainline Contracting, Inc. from Rapid City, SD. The project completion date is Friday, Oct. 30, 2026.
