U.S. Air Force Band kicks off Montana fall tour

BILLINGS, Mont.–The U.S. Air Force Concert Band and Singing Sergeants launched their autumn tour with a performance at the Alberta Bair Theater in Billings, Montana, Oct. 14.

The tour focuses on linking the Air Force with local communities through live performance, sharing the service’s mission, and building relationships with audiences across the state.

“The word that we always talk about is connection,” said U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Katie Edelman, a vocalist with the Singing Sergeants. “That connection comes in a lot of pieces. So we are connecting the people of America with the military, with an image of the military, and with a personal experience of the military.”

The ensembles will travel through Montana until Oct. 25, delivering 10 concerts across eight cities while leading community outreach programs.

Key stops include a recording clinic and open rehearsal at Montana State University, pop-up concerts, and workshops tailored for local music educators.

“Our goal is to do more than bring music to Montana,” said U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Kristen Holritz, advancing innovation through music representative for The Band. “We want to share our knowledge, inspire students, and strengthen the connection between the Air Force and the communities we serve through our engagements with local educators.”

During the Montana tour, the Band will visit Bozeman, Helena, Great Falls, Missoula, Hamilton, Kalispell, Polson and Eureka, performing for an estimated 10,000 guests.
